More info: Beacon Coffee is a local coffee company that prides itself on sourcing the best beans from around the world and roasting them almost daily at their facility here in Ventura. Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Indonesia and Ethiopia are just a handful of places where the beans at Beacon Coffee originate.
Owned by John and Jennifer Wheir (she's the manager at Palermo Coffee Shop and his resume boasts experience with Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Starbucks, and Whole Foods), Beacon Coffee is one of the few coffee companies in Ventura County that roasts its own beans.
At this event, the Wheirs will walk us through a coffee tasting experience (also known as 'cupping'). We'll learn about the origins of the beans, the roasting process, and then sample a small selection of coffees and taste the differences between them. Get ready to slurp and sniff...you may never look at your daily cup of Jo the same way again.
